Molta gente si lamenta delle poor conditions prevailing in the Lecciona. La presenza di orrendi sacchi neri in corrispondenza dei pali di delimitazione della Riserva Naturale, che l'Ente Parco, cui compete la sorveglianza, non ha fatto rimuovere, lasciano pensare ai più che stiano lì a sostituire dei cestini, che sarebbero più consoni allo scopo, e trasformano le zone attorno ai pali in mini discariche ripugnanti.
Qualcuno dovrebbe forse ricordare che nella Riserva della Lecciona la priorità è quella della conservazione della biodiversità ed è per la rilevanza ambientale di questo luogo che la Comunità Europea ha finanziato interventi a difesa dell’ecosistema dunale e, per non vanificarne gli effetti, ha stabilito linee guida per la pulizia della spiaggia , che ad esempio non consentono di posizionare cestini per la raccolta dei rifiuti ed obbligano ad una pulizia che non si avvalga di mezzi meccanici .
In questo quadro è evidente che la frequentazione della spiaggia per la balneazione deve avvenire secondo modalità ben precise, adottando comportamenti più attenti e consapevoli , proprio perché si tratta di una situazione molto particolare, che va tutelata: molti visitors know and appreciate this place because of its natural features and the beautiful landscape that can now enjoy only here, as were all the other beaches of Versilia processed in places, artificial dunes flattened and without a trace of life , except the human .
